DAR conducts Basic Journalism Workshop

The Department of Agrarian Reform, Province of Ilocos Sur in cooperation with the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Northern Philippines conducted Basic Journalism Workshop at Nueva Segovia Consortium of Cooperatives Plaza on July 2-4, 2013.

It was funded by Japan International Cooperative Alliance under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Project III.

There are 22 participants in attendance. Thirteen came from DAR and nine from NSCC.

DAR Regional Director Felicidad Dumaguing, UNP Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lumen Almachar and NSCC Chief Executive Officer Divina Quemi were also present.

The professors from UNP namely Prof. Johnny A. Allagadan, Jr, Director of Public Information, Dr. Marie Rose Q. Rabang, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences and Prof. Maximo B. Borje, Jr, Head of University Student Publication discussed Basic Journalism Topics such as the principles of effective writing, news writing, editorial and feature writing, photo journalism and managing publication.

The workshop was conducted prior to the newsletter of NSCC with the help of DAR that will be published quarterly.
